Attending ACL 2019? Prof. Passonneau might be your area chair!

Our professor, Rebecca J. Passonneau, will serve as ACL area chair for Dialogue and Interactive Systems!

This year, the 57th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) will take place in Florence (Italy) at the 'Fortezza da Basso' from July 28th to August 2nd, 2019.

ACL 2019 has 22 areas. Each area is headed by two Senior Area Chairs (SACs) who have the overall responsibility of all the submissions in the area. They are assisted by Area Chairs (ACs) who handle the review process for a subset of papers in each area.

The PSU NLP Lab couldn't be more excited that its advisor will be the area chair for Dialogue and Interactive Systems! 🎉

Dialogue and Interactive Systems is the submission area involving dialogue control models, context modeling for dialogue, corpora, tools and evaluation methods for developing dialogue systems, multimodal, embodied, and situated dialogue, social chatbots, open-domain dialogue systems, task-oriented dialog, dialog policy learning, state tracking, conversational understanding, response generation, pragmatic and/or semantic modeling for dialogue.

ACL is the premier conference of the field of computational linguistics, covering a broad spectrum of diverse research areas that are concerned with computational approaches to natural language.
